I currently steer product design at Avinode Group as Global Design Director, working on several ongoing and secret projects. Hence, I can unfortunately not show much of the ongoing work.
Key achievements
- Played a key role in transitioning Avinode to a product operating model grounded in continuous discovery with learnings from data.
- Transformed how we work with design and experimentation with the help of AI.
- Coaching and directing Product Designers globally.
- Driven product visions for all portfolio products and platforms, including visual direction.
- Building a new multi-platform design system to close the gap between design and engineering, and to speed up experimenting, prototyping and validation.
- Created clear processes for the entire design journey from discovery and ideation to validation, delivery and adoption.
Avinode Group was founded in the early 2000’s and was the first company to move business aviation online. Back then, they disrupted a whole industry – and they have managed to keep a leading position for more than 20+ years! Today we build advanced solutions for every player in the business aviation industry, including air ambulance, charter sales and more.
I joined Avinode Group in spring of 2023 as their first Design Director. They were just getting started to shift towards a product operating model, an exciting challenge for the ~170 employees across Sweden and US.
The first part of my time with Avinode, I coached feature-focused product teams to transform into efficient and empowered product teams that feel comfortable to move autonomously (to some extent) towards outcomes instead of features.
Today at Avinode, I’m leading the way we shape tomorrow’s tools for business aviation, an industry that is far more complex than what I experienced building a neo bank for small businesses at Bokio. There are so many moving parts in aviation charter and any option is always possible. Together with a product that has been organically built during the last two decades and plenty of compliance requirements in the industry, this creates a unique and exciting challenge to build efficient tools for all aspects through out a trip lifecycle!
